Parineeti chopra was born on October 22, 1988 in ambala, Haryana. She belongs to Punjabi family and her father is Pawan chopra who is a business man and supplier to Indian army at ambala cantonment and her mother is Reena chopra. She received primary education at convent of jesus and mary in ambala cantonment. She went to London for higher education at the age of 17 and received triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester business school in the United Kingdom. She has two brothers’ shivang and saraj. Priyanka chopra, a leading Indian actress and Barbie handra are her cousins.
She is honored with Best female debut award for Ladies vs Ricky bahl in Filmfare awards, screen awards, Zee cine awards, Apsara film and television producers guild awards and Bollywood Hungama surfers choice awards. She also received Best actress in a supporting role in apsara awards and bollywood sufers choice awards. She got Superstar for tomorrow- female award in stardust awards. She also received cosmopolitan fun fearless award, global Indian film and TV honors award as most promising fresh face- female, FICCI Frames award as Best female debut and big star young entertainment award. Parineeti also received rising star award in Hello hall of fame awards.
For ishaqzaade she got best actress award and super star of tomorrow award in star awards, film fare awards, star dust awards, apsara film awards and television producer’s guild awards. She won the National Film Award for Special Mention at the 60th National Film Awards.
She returned to India in 2009 due to economic recession and moved to Mumbai to stay with her cousin Priyanka chopra. She introduced her to public relation officer in yash raj films studio and got an internship in the marketing department by joining as public relation team of the company. She is happy with her profession as she can put her knowledge and work in films.
At first Chopra disliked actors and acting as she thinks it is the profession of glamour and sham but later she changed her perception and increased her respect towards that profession.
During promotions of band baaja baarat, she released that she is interested in acting. So she resigned her job in yash raj films and joined in acting school to became an actress.
Parineeti chopra made her debut with the romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky bahl, in a supporting role with ranveer singh and anushka Sharma. The movie is moderate hit but she was praised by film critics. Her second appearance on silver screen is Ishaaqzaade, a romantic drama alongside arjun kapoor in the direction of Habib faisal.
Her upcoming movie is Maneesh sharma’s Shuddh desi romance with sushant singh and vaani kapoor which is going to hit theatres on September 6, 2013.
Chopras future projects are anurag kashyap-karan johar film “hasee toh phase” with siddharth malhotra, Shad ali’s ‘Kill dil’ with ranveer singh and ali zafar which is her first glamorous role and Habib faisal’s movie with aditya kapoor produced by Yash raj films.
Chopra endorses for number of brands such as Kurkure, Nivea, Maaza , Spinz and WeChat. She appeared on verve’s list of powerful women and featured on Rediff.com's annual list of Bollywood's Best Actresses.
Apart from Film acting and endorsements, Chopra is also active in charity work and supports a number of causes. She walked on the ramp at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week to support the Shabana Azmi Mijwan Welfare Society, an NGO dedicated to empowering girls and also appeared on NDTV's Greenathon and lend her support which is an initiative to support eco-friendliness and investigate poor electricity supplies in rural villages
