Mini Biography

Tara Sharma was born to author and theater actor Partap Sharma, and Susan Sharma. She has a sister, Namrita Sharma. She studied at The Bombay International School [2] affiliated to ICSE and was academically bright. She graduated with a distinction and went on to finish her IB on a scholarship, at the UWC Adriatic in Italy.

Tara Sharma did her B.Sc in Management from London School of Economics, after which she was a financial consultant with Citibank & Accenture. Realizing her latent love for modeling, she did a couple of advertisements for Lakme, Garnier & Pepsi, before foraying into films with her debut in Om Jai Jagadish.

After few years of being involved in movie-making and acting, she married ad film producer Roopak Saluja, an alumnus of INSEAD in November 2007. The couple have two sons, Zen (b.2009) and Kai (b.2011).
Tara's father died in 2011. "Losing my father in 2011 left me devastated and changed my life too. But, I do have a strong belief that no one really goes away and my father will always live in our hearts," she says.[3] She is personally involved in spreading awareness about good parenting & mother-child care.[4]

Career

Tara Sharma started her career with modelling for Lakme and Garnier. She did Pepsi commercial with Shah Rukh Khan, which proved to be a stepping stone into movies.[5] She debuted in Anupam Kher's Om Jai Jagadish. Her movies Khosla Ka Ghosla and Page 3 are critically acclaimed & Saaya and Masti were commercial successes.

She conceptualized and started her show on new-age motherhood, The Tara Sharma Show. The show's first two seasons have been successes and the third season is due to air on Colors and Nick from October 18, 2013.[6][7] Tara is co-producing the show with The 120 Media Collective.[8][9]
